This dramatic film is about college student DJ attending a fictional historical Black university who is pledging a Greek-letter fraternity. DJ’s fraternity is competing in step shows against a rival fraternity on campus.  The high energy style of competitive stepping sets the backdrop as the men explode in conflict as they both try to dominate the yard. 113 minutes. 2007

This new release film dramatically chronicles the real life story of Mike Jones’ rise to fame as an inspiring rapper.  We follow his story as he weaves his path through the streets of Houston utilizing music. 115 minutes. 2007

“COOL RUNNINGS” – Noon-2 p.m.
You’ll love this outrageously funny, yet touching hit comedy inspired by the true story of Jamaica’s first Olympic bobsled team.  They were four unlikely athletes with one impossible dream.  With the help of a US former champion as their coach, they leave their sunny tropical island home and enter the world of the Winter Olympics to compete in a sport they know nothing about, bobsled racing!  Having the courage to trust each other, they find it in their hearts to meet the challenge and soon become the heroes of the Games!  Go along for the ride as they take the world by storm in this heart-warming film! 98 minutes. 1993

“WHY DID I GET MARRIED?” – 2-4 p.m.
This Tyler Perry film, based on his hit stage play, deals with eight married college friends who have gathered for their annual seven-day reunion in the snow-capped Colorado Mountains. The cozy mood is shattered when the group is faced with infidelity. Over the course of the weekend, husbands and wives look at their lives as they are confronted with the difficulties of maintaining solid relationships with their spouses.  This intimate romantic love story stars Tyler Perry, Janet Jackson, Malik Yoba and Jill Scott. 90 minutes.  2007
